Russian An-22 starting its engines in winter. It's not only the biggest turboprop plane in the world but the first wide-body aircraft as well. Note the little body of the photographer standing in front of the airplane.
An-22 had its first flight on February 27, 1965. It is still in service. 68 such airplanes were built.
During the last 53 years 1 was shot down near Kabul in 1984, 2 crashed due to malfunctions, 2 crashed during landing due to pilots' mistakes (the crews survived but the airplanes weren't operational anymore).
As of today 6 An-22s are still in service with the Russian Armed Forces and will remain in service till 2033. Thus, by that time this airplane will have serviced almost 70 years.
